On Saturday, July 21st, the first annual College Prep Elevation Workshop was held at the Wakulla County One Stop Community Center in Crawfordville, Florida. This workshop was developed so that high school students could have an opportunity to gain valuable insight from a panel of professionals in various industries, on effective ways to navigate college and/or their post-high school careers.

During the event, the students completed a variety of sessions, including: Effective Goal Setting, College Finances, Professional Development, Dressing for Success, and Effective Networking. Among the panelists were Anisha Queen, a practicing attorney, Lafayette Thomas, Chief Executive Officer of TM3 Solutions, and Jarius Hollinger, Insurance Agency Process Specialist. Shannon Baker— Executive Director of TMI Kids of Tallahassee and former FSU football player—served as both a panelist and guest speaker. Bruce Simmons, Visual Information Specialist, organized and facilitated all sessions at the event.
