April joined Team TM3 in August 2024 as Human Resource Specialist.
Here, in her own words, is why she chose to take on this assignment and what her experience has been like thus far: “I aspire to work with a family-oriented company where I can continue to grow and gain valuable experience in all areas of Human Resources. I find motivation in my team, who inspire me to excel in my role as an HR specialist.”
Born in Washington, DC, and raised as an Army kid, April developed a love for travel with family and friends. One of her greatest joys is reading with her dad—together, they established their own book club when she was young, and it remains a special bond they share.
April also serves as a volunteer cook at Decatur Heights Baptist Church, where she is known for her Honey Jerk Lamb Chops with creamy pasta and vegetables.
Asked why she chose Human Resources as a career path, here’s what she had to say: “I began my career in the medical field as a Medical Assistant, and was driven by a passion for advocating on behalf of her fellow employees. This desire to be a voice for others led me to pursue a bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, with a focus on Management and Human Resources, from Strayer University.”
On further probing, she goes on to say “I believe that people are the most important asset of any organization. My philosophy centers around creating an environment where employees feel valued, supported, and empowered to thrive. By fostering open communication, fairness, and continuous development, we build a workplace culture that enhances performance while nurturing individual growth and well-being.”
In her spare time, April enjoys cooking for her loved ones, and lives by the motto: ‘We sometimes must get 9 Nos before we can get 1 yes.’
Welcome aboard, April!
